A quick one

  Two photographs: the first is a member of the Malaysian team. Alison was impressed with his work and said, although the team didn't win a medal, the piece was strong. The second is of a wild team from the Yukon -- two Canadians and one American. She assured me that the blurred photograph was no reflection on the team itself.

 

In about 8 hours she and Tatyana will be leaving Harbin and headed toward Xi an, where they''ll see the Terracotta army (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terracotta_Army).

Yesterday, she and a group of 13 or so visited the Ice and Snow world. Alison hung out with the Malaysian team. Ice slides were set up, and she had a good time sliding down them.

She was able to find a charger for her iTouch at an Apple reseller in Harbin. While downtown she stumbled upon a hip-hop school and popped inside to experience Hip-hop, Chinese style. She also did some literal walking on water, in this case the frozen river, where she saw hockey players and various transportation devices.

They will be in Xi an until Saturday evening, at which point they fly back to Beijing.
